40 mm Oak Glued Wood Panel in A/B Grade
This glued wood panel made of solid European oak combines a calm face side with the natural appeal of mature wood. The 40 mm thick panel is manufactured from continuous staves and is suitable for visible furniture, tabletops, worktops, and individual interior design projects. With A/B grading, the two sides of the panel are intentionally different: the A-side has fewer knots and creates a more harmonious wood pattern, while the B-side is allowed to be more natural and lively. This allows you to select the preferred face side to suit your specific furniture or design concept.

Calm A-side and more natural B-side
The A-side is intended as the calmer face side. It has a lower proportion of knots and is particularly suitable for surfaces where a balanced and harmonious oak pattern is desired. The B-side, on the other hand, may show more natural variations and thus appear livelier.
Both sides do not need to be visually identical or correspond to the same grade. Grain, color tone, and knot content may also vary between individual panels. These differences are part of the natural appearance of solid wood and allow you to purposefully choose the right side for your project.
Continuous staves for a harmonious wood appearance
The staves run the entire length of the oak glued wood panel. Unlike versions with short staves or finger-jointing, there are no regular butt joints within the individual staves. This creates a clear, longitudinal wood grain that highlights the natural pattern of the oak particularly well.
This continuous longitudinal structure appears calm and cohesive, especially in tabletops, worktops, and larger furniture pieces. It supports a spacious visual effect without masking the natural character of the wood.
40 mm thick oak panel for furniture and interior design
The 40 mm thick solid oak panel creates a strong and high-quality material impression. It is suitable for, among other things, tabletops, worktops, shelves, window sills, furniture carcasses, furniture parts, wall paneling, and other visible interior surfaces. Individual furniture projects also benefit from the striking panel thickness and the solid character of European oak.
For worktops and similarly demanding applications, a suitable all-round surface treatment is required. The 40 mm solid oak panel is intended for non-load-bearing applications in dry indoor areas and must not be used as a structural component.
Raw-sanded and customizable
The 40 mm oak glued wood panel is delivered raw and sanded on both sides. Before cutting and further processing, the panel should acclimatize under the eventual room conditions. Depending on the desired finish, it can be professionally sanded, oiled, lacquered, or color-treated.
For high-use applications, treat all sides and edges with a suitable surface product and follow the respective instructions for use. Since solid oak reacts to changes in room humidity, natural swelling and shrinkage must be taken into account during construction, cutting, and fastening.
A/B grade or B grade?
The A/B grade offers a calmer A-side for visible furniture and interior surfaces, as well as a more natural B-side. The B grade is significantly more rustic and may show unfilled knots, knot holes, and cracks. Neither version is inherently better or worse—the deciding factor is the desired wood appearance and the design requirements of your project.
