Oak Stair Tread Panels – 40 mm Wood Panels for Stair Treads

Our stair tread panels made of European oak are 40 mm thick and 650 mm wide. These solid wood panels are manufactured with continuous staves and are supplied raw and sanded on both sides. Available options include oak in A/B grade and knotty oak B with black filler.

Solid Oak Panels for Stair Treads and Interior Construction

The stair tread panels are intended for further processing in dry interior areas. Depending on the structural design, they can be used for stair treads, stair cladding, and other interior finishing projects. The panels are classified as SWP/1 and non-load-bearing components. Construction, fastening, and dimensioning must therefore be coordinated with the respective staircase structure.

40 mm Oak with Continuous Staves

In these panels, the staves run the entire length of the board. As a result, there are no regular butt joints within the individual staves. The continuous stave structure makes the longitudinal grain of the oak clearly visible.

Oak A/B or Knotty Oak B

Both versions consist of European oak but differ in their visual appearance. In the A/B grade, the A-side is more uniform, while the B-side may be more lively. Knotty oak B shows a more striking knot pattern; knots and other characteristic features are partially filled with black filler.

Raw Sanded for Further Processing

The stair tread panels are supplied raw and sanded on both sides. Depending on the planned use and design, they can subsequently be further processed, for example, by oiling or varnishing. When cutting, fastening, and treating the surface, the properties of solid wood and the respective processing specifications must be taken into account.

FAQs

Which panel is suitable depends on the structural design of the staircase. The stair tread panels offered are made of solid European oak, are 40 mm thick, and are manufactured from continuous staves. They are intended for non-load-bearing applications in dry indoor areas. When planning, the substructure, fastening, and load must be taken into account.

The stair tread panels offered are 40 mm thick and 650 mm wide. The available lengths can be selected directly for each specific product variant.

Both versions are made of European oak. You can choose between grade A/B, which has a calmer A-side, or knotty oak B, which has a more striking knot pattern and black filler. "Knotty oak" does not refer to a different wood species, but rather a version of oak with prominent knots.

With continuous staves, each individual stave runs the entire length of the panel. There are therefore no regular butt joints or finger joints within the stave. This allows the longitudinal grain of the oak to remain visible across the panel.

No. The panels offered are designated as SWP/1 for non-load-bearing applications in dry indoor areas. The load-bearing structure of a staircase must therefore be planned and executed independently of the stair tread panel.

Yes. The panels are supplied raw and sanded on both sides and can be further surface-treated after appropriate preparation. For example, suitable oil or lacquer systems can be used. The processing instructions for the respective surface product should be followed.
